All MIBs › MODULES-SUNMANAGEMENTCENTER-MIB
Category: Network Management, Products/Registration
Description: Defines Sun Management Center module registration and component inventory.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is MODULES-SUNMANAGEMENTCENTER-MIB?
MODULES-SUNMANAGEMENTCENTER-MIB is a Sun Microsystems MIB that defines the OID registration tree (sun.prod.sunsymon.agent.base.modules) under which the individual monitoring-module MIBs of Sun Management Center (SunMC) are organized. It does not itself carry monitoring tables of hardware or software counters; instead it establishes the namespace/component-inventory structure that other SunMC agent modules attach beneath. As such, it indirectly enables monitoring of the full range of Sun server hardware and software status — since real modules for CPU, disk, environment, and processes register under this tree — but the module itself provides no directly pollable values. It is foundational infrastructure for the broader Sun Management Center agent MIB suite rather than a standalone data source, and every other SunMC module MIB depends on this registration arc. It is deployed as part of the Sun Management Center enterprise systems-management stack for Sun/Solaris servers, and the MODULES-SUNMANAGEMENTCENTER-MIB MIB is the registration point every other SunMC agent module in that stack attaches beneath.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in MODULES-SUNMANAGEMENTCENTER-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Sun Microsystems / Solaris server running Sun Management Center
Monitoring Examples
This module defines only the sun/prod/sunsymon/agent/base/modules OID registration arc used to organize other SunMC module MIBs; it has no scalar or tabular runtime objects of its own to poll, so there is no direct monitoring scenario — actual monitored data such as CPU or disk status is exposed by the individual SunMC modules registered beneath this tree.
