Description: Provides enhanced environmental monitoring with threshold alerts for temperature, fans, and PSU health on Allied Telesis platforms.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is AT-ENVMONv2-MIB?

AT-ENVMONv2-MIB is an Allied Telesis vendor MIB, version 2 of their environmental monitoring extension, designed to report on voltage rails, fan speeds, temperature sensors, and power supply unit health on Allied Telesis switches and routers, with support for configurable alert thresholds. Although the sample object list for this module was not available for direct inspection, based on its module description its data categories are exclusively environmental/hardware health: voltage, thermal, fan, and PSU status. This makes it squarely a hardware-status MIB, intended to let an administrator detect an overheating chassis, a failed or slowing fan, an out-of-range voltage rail, or a degraded/failed power supply before it causes an outage. It likely complements Allied Telesis's core system and interface MIBs and follows the pattern of earlier AT-ENVMON-MIB implementations, effectively superseding or extending that first version with threshold-alert capability. It is typically deployed on Allied Telesis managed switches and routers in enterprise wiring closets and data centers where proactive hardware-health alerting is required. Engineers can download the AT-ENVMONv2-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in AT-ENVMONv2-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Allied Telesis switches (environmental monitoring)

Monitoring Examples

Because no sample objects were provided for this module, a concrete object-level monitoring example cannot be responsibly constructed without risking invented names; in practice, however, an admin would be expected to poll per-sensor temperature, fan-speed, voltage, and PSU-status tables and compare current readings against configured high/low thresholds to detect an overheating or failing component before it triggers a hardware alarm trap.

What Can Be Monitored

  • chassis temperature sensor readings
  • fan speed/status
  • voltage rail readings
  • power supply unit status
  • threshold alert conditions
