Category: Hardware and Environment, Network Interfaces, Vendor: H3C/HH3C, Vendor: HP/HPE

Description: Monitors optical transceiver (SFP/XFP) Tx/Rx power, temperature, and vendor information on HP/Comware switches.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HPN-ICF-TRANSCEIVER-INFO-MIB?

HPN-ICF-TRANSCEIVER-INFO-MIB is an H3C/HPE Networking (ICF) proprietary MIB displaying pluggable-transceiver information per interface. Its table, keyed by interface, records hardware type, transceiver type, wavelength, vendor name, serial number, fiber-diameter type, transfer distance, a diagnostic flag, current/max/min TX power, current/max/min RX power, temperature, voltage, bias current, and temperature/voltage high/low alarm and warning thresholds. As a hardware-performance MIB it lets an administrator watch a transceiver's optical/electrical health against alarm/warning thresholds on an H3C/HPE ICF device. It is deployed on H3C/HPE Networking (ICF-based) devices with pluggable optical transceivers. Engineers can download the HPN-ICF-TRANSCEIVER-INFO-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HPN-ICF-TRANSCEIVER-INFO-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • H3C/HPE Networking (ICF-based) devices (pluggable optical transceivers)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator monitors hpnicfTransceiverCurRXPower against hpnicfTransceiverTempLoAlarm-adjacent thresholds to catch a degrading transceiver on an H3C/HPE ICF device.

What Can Be Monitored

  • transceiver optical/electrical health vs. alarm/warning thresholds
