Description: Manages ADSL line configuration, profiles, and performance statistics on Askey DSLAM equipment.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is ASKEY-ADSL-MIB?
ASKEY-ADSL-MIB is a proprietary MIB from Askey, an ODM/CPE manufacturer, covering ADSL line configuration, profiles, and performance statistics on Askey-built DSL gateway/CPE equipment, plus CPE Wi-Fi radio control for combo DSL/Wi-Fi gateways. It exposes ADSL line standard, power-management mode/state, and per-line impulse-noise-protection (INP) values at both central-office and customer-premises ends, alongside a wireless admin-state table for the onboard Wi-Fi radio. It is used to monitor both hardware and software status of the gateway: DSL line sync/power-management state and INP margin reveal WAN line stability, while the CPE wireless admin state shows whether the LAN-side Wi-Fi radio is enabled, together covering both WAN and LAN subsystem health. It extends the standard ADSL line MIB conventions (as in RFC 2662-style ADSL-LINE-MIB) with Askey-specific power-management and wireless objects. It is deployed in ISP-provided Askey ADSL modems/gateways with integrated Wi-Fi, typically managed remotely via SNMP or TR-069, often after an ASKEY-ADSL-MIB download to load the module into a MIB browser for troubleshooting.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ASKEY-ADSL-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Askey ADSL modem/gateway (CPE)
- Askey-based DSLAM equipment
- Askey ADSL modem/gateway CPE (ISP-branded broadband gateways)
Monitoring Examples
An operator polls askeyADSLLineStatusExtTable/askeyADSLLineStatusExtEntry for askeyADSLLineStandard, askeyADSLLinePwrMgtMode/askeyADSLLinePwrMgtState, and askeyADSLLineAtucCurrINP/askeyADSLLineAturCurrINP to assess line stability and noise margin at both the CO (ATUC) and CPE (ATUR) ends. Separately, askeyCPEWirelessTable/askeyCPEWirelessEntry with askeyCPEWirelessAdminState confirms whether the CPE's Wi-Fi radio is administratively enabled. A support technician would flag a line reporting an unexpectedly low INP value or an unplanned power-management state change as a sign of an unstable DSL loop.
What Can Be Monitored
- ADSL line standard/profile
- line power-management mode and state
- impulse noise protection (INP) at CO and CPE ends
- CPE wireless (Wi-Fi) admin state
