Category: Network Interfaces, Vendor: Ascend/Lucent

Description: Manages ISDN BRI NT (Network Termination) interface configuration on Ascend access equipment.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ASCEND-MIBBRINT-MIB?

ASCEND-MIBBRINT-MIB is an Ascend Communications (later Lucent) proprietary MIB defining ISDN BRI host/terminal profiles on Ascend MAX/Pipeline access equipment, complementing the leased-line profiles in ASCEND-MIBBRILT-MIB. Each profile entry, keyed by shelf/slot/item, names the host and records its physical (hardware) address broken out by shelf/slot/item-number components. As a configuration/inventory MIB it lets an administrator confirm which physical BRI port a named host profile maps to when auditing ISDN terminal provisioning. It is deployed on Ascend/Lucent ISDN access equipment terminating BRI terminal connections. Engineers can download the ASCEND-MIBBRINT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ASCEND-MIBBRINT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Ascend Communications (Lucent) MAX/Pipeline ISDN access equipment

Monitoring Examples

An administrator cross-references bRIHostProfile-Name against its bRIHostProfile-PhysicalAddress-Shelf/Slot/ItemNumber fields to confirm a named BRI host profile is mapped to the intended physical port.

What Can Be Monitored

  • BRI host profile name-to-physical-port mapping
