Description: Manages Asante AH1012 Ethernet hub port status, counters, and configuration.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ASANTE-AH1012-MIB?

The ASANTE-AH1012-MIB is a vendor-specific SNMP module for Asante's AH1012 series Ethernet hub, an entry-level networking device from the era of shared-media Ethernet hubs. It exposes agent-level data such as firmware/image version information, hardware revision, boot/reset control, remote-boot configuration (protocol, file, dial string, baud rate), and general product identification. Administrators use it primarily to confirm hardware and firmware health of the hub agent itself, checking the running image's major/minor version, hardware revision, and whether the device needs a reset or remote reload, rather than monitoring rich traffic statistics. It does not appear to layer on other standard MIBs beyond basic SNMPv2-SMI conventions. It would typically be deployed in small legacy Ethernet networks where an Asante hub still provides basic connectivity and needs periodic firmware/config verification. Engineers can download the ASANTE-AH1012-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ASANTE-AH1012-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Asante AH1012 Ethernet hub

Monitoring Examples

An administrator polling agentRunTimeImageMajorVer and agentRunTimeImageMinorVer can confirm which firmware build is active on the hub agent and detect a failed or partial upgrade. agentHwVer and agentHwReVer reveal the underlying hardware revision, useful when auditing a fleet of AH1012 hubs for compatibility with a firmware update. The agentReset object lets an operator trigger a remote reboot, while agentRemoteBootInfo/agentRemoteBootProtocol/agentRemoteBootFile describe how the unit fetches its image over the network, letting staff verify a remote-boot server is correctly configured.

What Can Be Monitored

  • firmware image version
  • hardware revision
  • remote boot protocol and file
  • boot mode configuration
  • agent reset status
  • product/model identification
