Category: Network Interfaces, Vendor: Ascend/Lucent
Description: Manages ISDN BRITE (Basic Rate ISDN Terminal Equipment) interfaces on Ascend access equipment.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is ASCEND-MIBBRITE-MIB?
ASCEND-MIBBRITE-MIB is an Ascend proprietary MIB for BRITE (Basic Rate ISDN Terminal Equipment) interface cards used on Ascend remote-access equipment for ISDN BRI connectivity. It exposes configuration and status for ISDN BRI ports, including channel and line state. Its monitoring value is fault/status detection for dial-up and ISDN backup links: confirming B-channel/D-channel and line status so operators know ISDN capacity is available for incoming calls and can spot a port stuck out of service. It parallels concepts found in standard ISDN and DS0-related MIBs. It was deployed on legacy Ascend remote-access concentrators/routers offering ISDN dial access, and archived copies remain useful today as an ASCEND-MIBBRITE-MIB download for engineers maintaining these legacy platforms.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ASCEND-MIBBRITE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Ascend ISDN remote-access/dial-up equipment
Monitoring Examples
No sample objects were captured for this module. Based on its purpose, it would expose a per-BRI-port status object covering channel and line state, which an operator polls to confirm ISDN lines are up and channels are available for dial calls, and to catch a port reporting a failed or out-of-service condition.
What Can Be Monitored
- ISDN BRI port operational status
- B-channel/D-channel state
- line/call status
