Category: Vendor: ADTRAN
Description: Manages ADTRAN DSU IQ data service units with integrated quality monitoring for T1/FT1 data services.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is ADTRAN-DSUIQ-MIB?
ADTRAN-DSUIQ-MIB is an ADTRAN vendor MIB for the DSU IQ, a T1/Fractional T1 (FT1) data service unit with integrated quality-monitoring circuitry used to terminate leased-line data circuits. The sampled objects are mostly configuration data -- management IP addressing and gateway, trap-manager destination (including DLCI and port for frame-relay-delivered traps), console port baud rate/mode, and system password/date/time. Its monitoring relevance is in confirming the unit's management reachability and trap-delivery path are correctly configured, and, as an "IQ" unit, in the product line's broader ability to report circuit quality and alarm conditions to a management station via those trap destinations. No dependency on external standard MIBs is evident from the available definitions. It is deployed at customer or network sites terminating T1/FT1 circuits where centralized SNMP trap monitoring of the unit's configuration and link quality is required. Engineers can download the ADTRAN-DSUIQ-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ADTRAN-DSUIQ-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- ADTRAN DSU IQ T1/FT1 data service unit (CSU/DSU)
Monitoring Examples
An administrator would set adDSUIQIpAddress, adDSUIQIpAddressMask, and adDSUIQGatewayIpAddress to establish management reachability to the unit. adDSUIQTrapManagerIpAddress, together with adDSUIQTrapManagerDLCI and adDSUIQTrapManagerPort, would then be configured to direct SNMP traps over a specific frame-relay DLCI back to the NMS. Checking adDSUIQTOD and adDSUIQDate confirms the unit's clock is synchronized for accurate event timestamps, while adDSUIQControPortBaud and adDSUIQControPortMode confirm the serial console settings used for local craft access.
What Can Be Monitored
- management IP address/mask/gateway configuration
- trap destination IP/DLCI/port
- time-of-day and date
- control/console port baud rate and mode
- trap enable status
