Category: ZTE ZXR10 System Management
Description: Manages ZTE ZXR10 SNMP agent configuration including community strings, access control, and agent parameters.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is ZXR10-SNMP-MIB?
ZXR10-SNMP-MIB is a ZTE private module describing the SNMP agent's own configuration on ZXR10 devices, covering community strings, access control lists, and general agent parameters. It exposes configuration data for the SNMP management plane itself rather than device traffic or hardware sensors. Its monitoring relevance is narrow but important: it lets an administrator confirm the software status of the SNMP agent's security configuration, such as which communities and access controls are in effect, helping detect an overly permissive or misconfigured community string that could expose the device to unauthorized management access. It naturally overlaps with and extends the standard SNMPv2-MIB/SNMP-COMMUNITY-MIB conventions for community-based access control. It is deployed on every ZXR10 device where SNMP-based management is enabled, as part of baseline device security and manageability configuration. Engineers can download the ZXR10-SNMP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ZXR10-SNMP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- ZTE ZXR10 router/switch
Monitoring Examples
No sample objects were provided for this module, so specific object names cannot be cited; conceptually, an operator would poll the configured community strings and their associated access permissions to confirm read/write access is restricted as intended. Finding a community with unexpectedly broad (e.g., read-write) access would reveal a security misconfiguration in the SNMP agent.
What Can Be Monitored
- SNMP community string configuration
- SNMP access control settings
- SNMP agent parameter configuration
