Description: Defines ZTE ZXR10 traceroute diagnostic operations for hop-by-hop path discovery and latency measurement.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ZXR10-TRACE-MIB?

ZXR10-TRACE-MIB is a ZTE proprietary diagnostic module for ZXR10 routers and switches that models SNMP-driven traceroute operations, allowing a management station to trigger a traceroute from the device and retrieve the resulting hop-by-hop path. It exposes control objects to start a trace toward a target address and result objects listing each hop's address and measured round-trip latency. Rather than continuous hardware/software health counters, its monitoring value is diagnostic: an administrator uses it to verify network reachability and path latency from the device's perspective when troubleshooting routing or connectivity problems, complementing uptime and interface status data from other MIBs. It depends on standard SNMPv2-SMI conventions and is typically used alongside ZXR10 routing and interface MIBs during fault investigation. It is deployed in ZTE ZXR10 network environments as an on-demand diagnostic tool rather than a passive monitoring feed. Engineers can download the ZXR10-TRACE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ZXR10-TRACE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • ZTE ZXR10 routers/switches

Monitoring Examples

No explicit object names were captured in sample_objects, but consistent with its purpose the module would expose a trace-control object to launch a traceroute and a trace-results table listing each hop's address, round-trip time, and status. An administrator troubleshooting a slow or unreachable destination would trigger a trace from the ZXR10 device and inspect the hop table for the point where latency spikes or responses stop.

What Can Be Monitored

  • traceroute hop addresses
  • per-hop round-trip latency
  • trace operation status
  • target reachability
