What Is Wellfleet-VCCT-MIB?
The Wellfleet-VCCT-MIB is a Wellfleet Communications proprietary MIB providing virtual circuit configuration tables for provisioning switched or permanent virtual circuits across Wellfleet router WAN interfaces, spanning technologies such as Frame Relay, X.25, and ATM. It exposes objects for defining, provisioning, and viewing the state of individual virtual circuits, including their endpoint mapping and connection parameters. Its monitoring role is primarily software/service state: operators use it to confirm a given virtual circuit is provisioned and in the active/up state, catching circuits that were configured but never came up or dropped after establishment. It functions as a cross-protocol provisioning layer that other Wellfleet protocol-specific MIBs (such as Wellfleet-X25-MIB or a Frame Relay MIB) rely on for circuit definitions. It was deployed on Wellfleet/Bay Networks multiprotocol routers provisioning virtual circuits across shared WAN infrastructure, and engineers supporting legacy gear can perform a Wellfleet-VCCT-MIB download to load these objects into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Wellfleet-VCCT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Wellfleet router
- Bay Networks/Nortel multiprotocol router
Monitoring Examples
An engineer reviews the virtual circuit configuration table to confirm a newly provisioned circuit's endpoint mapping matches the intended path, then checks its connection-state object to verify it transitioned to active. A circuit stuck in a provisioning or pending state well after configuration usually indicates a mismatch with the carrier's or remote router's circuit identifier.
What Can Be Monitored
- virtual circuit provisioning state
- endpoint mapping configuration
- circuit connection status
- cross-protocol circuit inventory
