Description: Monitors Wellfleet quality-of-service parameters including traffic classes, queue depths, and scheduling statistics.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is Wellfleet-QOS-MIB?
Wellfleet-QOS-MIB is a Wellfleet/Bay Networks vendor MIB for quality-of-service configuration and monitoring on router interfaces. It exposes traffic class definitions, per-queue depth and utilization, and scheduling/drop statistics used to enforce prioritized forwarding. From a device health perspective, it helps confirm that QoS policies are behaving as configured; queue depths approaching capacity or rising drop counts on a given traffic class indicate congestion or a misapplied QoS policy that could be degrading service. It complements standard IETF differentiated-services concepts and the base interface MIB, applying Wellfleet-specific queue and class objects on top. It is deployed on Wellfleet/Bay Networks routers carrying mixed traffic types (voice, data, video) that require prioritized queuing. Engineers can download the Wellfleet-QOS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Wellfleet-QOS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Wellfleet/Bay Networks router
Monitoring Examples
An administrator would poll the per-queue depth table to see whether a high-priority traffic class queue is filling up, and check drop counters to identify which class is losing packets under congestion. A queue with consistently high depth and rising drops would point to insufficient bandwidth allocation or a burst of unexpected traffic in that class. No sample object names were provided for this MIB, so this example is inferred from the stated short description.
What Can Be Monitored
- traffic class configuration
- per-queue depth
- scheduling statistics
- packet drop counters by class
