Description: Manages Wellfleet protocol priority queuing assignments and per-protocol bandwidth allocation parameters.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is Wellfleet-PROTOPRI-MIB?
Wellfleet-PROTOPRI-MIB is a Wellfleet (Bay Networks/Nortel-era) router MIB that manages protocol priority queuing, letting an administrator assign transmission priority and bandwidth allocation per network protocol on a router interface. It exposes configuration objects for the priority/bandwidth assignments and operational objects reflecting queue behavior and traffic distribution across those priority classes. From a monitoring standpoint it is mainly useful for checking the software configuration status of QoS-like traffic shaping and for spotting queue congestion or an unfairly starved protocol class rather than physical hardware faults. It is a vendor extension that sits on top of Wellfleet's base interface/routing MIBs rather than depending on an external standards-track MIB. It is deployed on Wellfleet multiprotocol routers carrying mixed traffic types where certain protocols (e.g., SNA, voice) need guaranteed bandwidth over others. Engineers can download the Wellfleet-PROTOPRI-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Wellfleet-PROTOPRI-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Wellfleet/Bay Networks multiprotocol router
Monitoring Examples
No sample object names were provided; in general an operator would poll the per-protocol priority/bandwidth assignment objects to confirm the intended queuing policy is applied and check per-queue traffic counters to detect a lower-priority protocol crowding out a higher-priority one.
What Can Be Monitored
- per-protocol priority assignment
- per-protocol bandwidth allocation
- queue traffic distribution
- queue congestion indicators

RFC description
A Wellfleet vendor-specific MIB for managing protocol priority configurations. This MIB defines management objects for setting and monitoring protocol-based traffic priorities and QoS parameters on Wellfleet networking devices.
Start monitoring Wellfleet/Bay Networks multiprotocol router (per-protocol priority/bandwidth-allocation config status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
