newFlow

Module: VISM-NONAXIPOP-TRAPS-MIB

OID (symbolic): VISM-NONAXIPOP-TRAPS-MIB::newFlow

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.110.0.50672

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description: The newFlow trap indicates that the originating system has installed a new flow in its classifier, or (when reservation authorization is in view) is prepared to install such a flow in the classifier and is requesting authorization. The objects included with the Notification may be used to read further information using the Integrated Services and RSVP MIBs. Authorization or non- authorization may be enacted by a write to the variable intSrvFlowStatus.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' VISM-NONAXIPOP-TRAPS-MIB::newFlow
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.110.0.50672

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public

Example snmptrapd log entry:

zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:62268->[192.168.30.10]:162]:
  DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (432692540) 50 days, 1:55:25.40
  SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: VISM-NONAXIPOP-TRAPS-MIB::newFlow

SNMPv3 example:

snmptrap -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3user -a SHA -A "AuthPass1" -x AES -X "PrivPass1" <manager> '' VISM-NONAXIPOP-TRAPS-MIB::newFlow
