What Is Unisphere-Data-DS1-CONF?
Unisphere-Data-DS1-CONF is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES MIB — a conformance statement rather than a data-bearing MIB — for the DS1 (T1) component of the SNMP agent on the Unisphere Routing Switch family, later carried forward as the Juniper ERX platform after Juniper's acquisition of Unisphere Networks. It defines four successive capability statements, usdDs1AgentV1 through usdDs1AgentV4, each scoped to a PRODUCT-RELEASE (RX 1.0 through RX 4.0+) and declaring which standard RFC1406-MIB DS1 groups (dsx1ConfigEntry, dsx1CurrentEntry, dsx1IntervalEntry, dsx1TotalEntry, dsx1FracEntry, and from V4 onward the far-end statistics entries) and which vendor-specific Unisphere-Data-DS1-MIB groups (usdDs1Group/1/2/3) a given software release actually implements. This is useful less for live monitoring data and more for confirming, ahead of polling, which DS1 statistics and far-end counters a specific RX/ERX software version supports, avoiding wasted GETs against unsupported objects. It depends entirely on the standard RFC1406-MIB and the companion vendor Unisphere-Data-DS1-MIB being present on the device, and administrators can download the Unisphere-Data-DS1-CONF file to confirm DS1 capability coverage for their Unisphere RX or Juniper ERX software release.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Unisphere-Data-DS1-CONF. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Unisphere Networks Routing Switch (RX) family, later Juniper ERX platform
Monitoring Examples
Before polling far-end DS1 error statistics on an older Unisphere RX box, an operator checks which capability statement (usdDs1AgentV1 through V4) matches the device's software release; if only usdDs1AgentV3 or earlier is supported, the far-end statistics entries included starting in usdDs1AgentV4 will not exist and GET requests against them will fail.
What Can Be Monitored
- supported RFC1406-MIB DS1 configuration/statistics groups by release
- supported far-end DS1 statistics groups (from RX 4.0)
- supported vendor Unisphere-Data-DS1-MIB object groups by release
