Description: Registers SNMP agent identity and supported capabilities for Unisphere Networks ERX routers.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is Unisphere-Data-Agents?
Unisphere-Data-Agents is the top-level AGENT-CAPABILITIES registry module for Unisphere Networks (later Juniper ERX) data communications router products, cataloging the SNMP agent capability definitions for various protocol/feature agents such as AAA, accounting, ATM, BGP, bridged Ethernet, and CLI. As a conformance/capabilities registry, it does not itself expose runtime monitorable data; instead it lists which agent capability modules exist for each supported feature area, used by NMS tools to determine which MIB features a given ERX router firmware version supports. Anyone browsing the Unisphere-Data-Agents OID tree in a MIB compiler will find only these AGENT-CAPABILITIES definitions, not live counters, since capability discovery is this module's sole purpose. It therefore has no direct role in reporting hardware or software operational status such as uptime or CPU load; that comes from the underlying feature MIBs, e.g. usdBgpAgent's corresponding BGP MIB, themselves. It depends on and organizes the many individual Unisphere Data agent-capabilities modules referenced by name (usdAaaServerAgent, usdBgpAgent, etc.). It's relevant to Unisphere/Juniper ERX edge routers during NMS feature-compatibility and firmware capability discovery.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Unisphere-Data-Agents. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Unisphere Networks / Juniper ERX edge routers
Monitoring Examples
This module is a registry of AGENT-CAPABILITIES object identifiers (usdAaaServerAgent, usdAccountingAgent, usdAtmAgent, usdBgpAgent, usdBridgedEthernetAgent, usdCliAgent) rather than runtime data objects, so there is no monitoring scenario here; NMS software would consult these OIDs only to determine which management features a given ERX router agent implementation supports, not to poll live values.
