Description: Manages Ubiquoss DHCP server configuration, address pool status, and lease allocation statistics.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is UBQS-DHCP-MIB?
UBQS-DHCP-MIB is a Ubiquoss vendor MIB that manages DHCP server configuration, address pool status, and lease allocation statistics on Ubiquoss network devices, and also incorporates DHCP/ARP inspection (anti-spoofing) objects. It exposes configuration and status data for DHCP service operation alongside a Dynamic ARP Inspection (ubiArpInspection) security feature. Its monitoring value covers software service health: an operator can track DHCP address pool exhaustion and lease allocation activity to catch a pool running low on available addresses, and monitor DHCP/ARP inspection events to detect spoofed or unauthorized DHCP/ARP traffic on the network. It has no apparent dependency on the standard IETF DHCP-related MIBs (e.g. host resources or IF-MIB), instead defining its own Ubiquoss-specific object tree. It is deployed on Ubiquoss switches or access devices that provide DHCP relay/server functionality and DHCP snooping/ARP inspection for network security. Engineers can download the UBQS-DHCP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in UBQS-DHCP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Ubiquoss switch/access device
Monitoring Examples
An operator would poll DHCP pool and lease-related objects under ubiDhcpMIBObjects to check remaining available addresses in a pool and current lease allocation counts, watching for a pool nearing exhaustion. The ubiArpInspection and ubiDaiMIBObjects branches would be checked for Dynamic ARP Inspection violations, and notifications rooted at ubiDhcpMIBNotificationPrefix would alert the operator to DHCP-related security events such as rogue DHCP server detection.
What Can Be Monitored
- DHCP address pool utilization
- DHCP lease allocation count
- DHCP/ARP inspection violation events
- rogue DHCP server detection
