Description: Manages Alcatel-Lucent Tropic abstract node configuration and status for optical transport networks.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is TROPIC-ABSNODE-MIB?

TROPIC-ABSNODE-MIB is an Alcatel-Lucent (Tropic optical-transport platform, built on TROPIC-ASON-MIB) proprietary MIB defining Abstract Node Data Plane Interface types for ASON (Automatically Switched Optical Network) routing. Its subnode table, keyed by local shelf/data-plane-node ID, records nodal SRG (Shared Risk Group) and shelf-unavailable flag; a TE-link table records ifID, remote ifID/node address, user label, metric, SRG IDs, color, latency, and component-ifID list; and an OTS-port table records ifID, NE ifIndex, local shelf ID, and remote ifID. As a status/configuration MIB it lets an administrator confirm ASON TE-link topology and shared-risk-group assignment on an Alcatel-Lucent Tropic optical-transport platform. It is deployed on Alcatel-Lucent Tropic optical-transport platforms (ASON abstract node). Engineers can download the TROPIC-ABSNODE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TROPIC-ABSNODE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Alcatel-Lucent Tropic optical-transport platforms (ASON abstract node)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks tnAbsNodeTeLinkSrgIds and tnAbsNodeSubnodeShelfUnavail to confirm ASON TE-link shared-risk-group assignment on an Alcatel-Lucent Tropic platform.

What Can Be Monitored
