What Is TRAPEZE-NETWORKS-AP-IF-MIB?
TRAPEZE-NETWORKS-AP-IF-MIB is a Trapeze Networks vendor MIB (trpzMibs 16) that exposes the network interfaces of wireless Access Points (APs) as seen and managed by their controlling Access Controller (AC, the wireless switch running the SNMP agent). Its trpzApIfTable, indexed by trpzApIfApSerialNum and trpzApIfIndex, lists every network interface on each AP currently in the ALIVE state, with trpzApIfName, trpzApIfType (a standard IANAifType), trpzApIfMtu, trpzApIfHighSpeed (nominal bandwidth in Mbps), and trpzApIfMac. Unlike a typical AP MIB focused on radio/RF statistics, this one is scoped to basic interface identity and capability — the mandatory trpzApIfBasicGroup compliance group covers exactly these five columnar objects — making it most useful for inventorying AP interfaces and confirming an AP's interfaces are correctly enumerated by the AC. It depends on TRAPEZE-NETWORKS-AP-TC for the TrpzApSerialNum type and TRAPEZE-NETWORKS-ROOT-MIB for its OID root, and complements Trapeze's radio-statistics MIBs for deeper wireless monitoring. It is deployed on Trapeze wireless switches (ACs) managing fleets of thin APs, and wireless network teams can find a TRAPEZE-NETWORKS-AP-IF-MIB download to enumerate and inventory AP network interfaces across their deployment.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TRAPEZE-NETWORKS-AP-IF-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Trapeze Networks wireless switches (Access Controllers) managing Trapeze thin Access Points
Monitoring Examples
An operator polls trpzApIfTable for a given AP serial number to confirm all of its expected network interfaces are present and report the correct trpzApIfType and trpzApIfHighSpeed; a missing interface index or an interface reporting zero high-speed value would indicate the AC has lost visibility into part of that AP's network hardware.
What Can Be Monitored
- AP network interface inventory (name, type, MTU)
- AP interface nominal bandwidth
- AP interface MAC address
- AP-to-AC interface enumeration completeness
