Description: Defines Trapeze Networks enterprise root OID and top-level SNMP object registration hierarchy.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is TRAPEZE-NETWORKS-ROOT-MIB?

TRAPEZE-NETWORKS-ROOT-MIB is the root MIB for Trapeze Networks, a wireless LAN vendor later acquired into the Belden/Juniper lineage, establishing the enterprise OID hierarchy for its mobility exchange switches and access points. It exposes registration subtrees for products, traps, and management-application MIBs rather than runtime data itself. Actual hardware/software status monitoring -- AP uptime, radio health, controller CPU/memory -- is performed by the child MIBs nested under trpzMibs, not by this root module. It depends only on the standard SNMPv2-SMI enterprise-registration convention to build its OID tree. It is deployed as supporting infrastructure wherever Trapeze wireless LAN switches and access points are managed in enterprise or campus networks. The TRAPEZE-NETWORKS-ROOT-MIB MIB file itself carries no pollable objects, serving purely as the enterprise-registration anchor for the vendor's AP, controller, and trap modules.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TRAPEZE-NETWORKS-ROOT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Trapeze Networks wireless LAN switches
  • Trapeze wireless access points

Monitoring Examples

The sample objects trpzProducts, trpzMibs, trpzTraps, and trpzMgmtAppMibs are registration nodes, not monitorable leaf objects, so this module itself yields no pollable counters. An admin browsing SNMP would use trpzRegistration and trpzMibs to locate the actual data-bearing Trapeze MIBs (for example AP or radio status MIBs) nested underneath. trpzTraps groups the notification OIDs that downstream fault MIBs populate for events like AP disconnects, but no live monitoring scenario applies to this root module itself.
