This object measures the uptime in seconds of the designated forwarder (DF) for a given site in a multi-site Layer 2 VPN service. The designated forwarder is responsible for forwarding multi-destination traffic across the service provider network, and tracking its uptime indicates availability and stability. Operators monitor this to detect DF failovers, which would cause brief traffic disruptions, and to validate network convergence.
