Description:
The value of svcArpHostIfMaxNumHosts specifies the maximum number of ARP hosts allowed on this IES interface.
The default value of this object is equal to '1' except for a retailer interface, where it is '32767'.
What is svcArpHostIfMaxNumHosts?
This OID sets the maximum number of device addresses (ARP entries) that can be learned on a network interface. Configuring this limit prevents a single port from becoming overloaded by learning too many device addresses. A network operator protecting against ARP spoofing attacks or managing a shared retail interface would set this to prevent malicious actors or misconfigured devices from flooding the port with fake addresses.
