Module: TIMETRA-SDP-MIB
OID (symbolic): TIMETRA-SDP-MIB::tmnxSvcSdpBindEncapDot1d
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.3.1.3.4.5.0.20
Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE
Description: The tmnxSvcSdpBindEncapDot1d notification is generated when a SDP binding received a BPDU that was 802.1d encapsulated. The SDP binding BPDUs will also be 802.1d encapsulated. No recovery is needed.
What is tmnxSvcSdpBindEncapDot1d?
This notification-type trap is generated when a Service Distribution Point (SDP) binding receives a Bridge Protocol Data Unit (BPDU) that uses 802.1d (legacy Spanning Tree) encapsulation rather than the expected format. After receiving such a BPDU, the binding automatically encapsulates its own BPDUs in the same 802.1d format for consistency. Network administrators are alerted to this condition for operational awareness, but no recovery action is required as the device automatically adapts.
Examples
Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' TIMETRA-SDP-MIB::tmnxSvcSdpBindEncapDot1d snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.3.1.3.4.5.0.20
Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):
snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
Example snmptrapd log entry:
zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:61857->[192.168.30.10]:162]: DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (457675169) 52 days, 23:19:11.69 SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: TIMETRA-SDP-MIB::tmnxSvcSdpBindEncapDot1d
