sdpKeepAliveHelloMessageLength

Module: TIMETRA-SDP-MIB

OID (symbolic): TIMETRA-SDP-MIB::sdpKeepAliveHelloMessageLength

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.3.1.2.4.4.3.1.18

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-create

Description: This object specifies the length of the SDP Echo Request messages transmitted on this SDP. The default value of zero indicates that the message length should be equal to the SDP's operating path MTU, as specified by sdpOperPathMtu. When the default value is overridden, the message length is sdpKeepAliveHelloMessageLength.

What is sdpKeepAliveHelloMessageLength?

This object controls the size of echo request (ping-like) messages sent to verify that a Service Distribution Point connection is alive and responsive. The default (0) means use the connection's maximum packet size; otherwise you can set a custom size. An operator would tune this to balance between detection speed and network overhead, or to work around MTU-related issues.
