sdpBindPwPeerFaultAddrChanged
Module: TIMETRA-SDP-MIB
OID (symbolic): TIMETRA-SDP-MIB::sdpBindPwPeerFaultAddrChanged
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.3.1.3.4.4.0.16
Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE
Description: The sdpBindPwPeerFaultAddrChanged notification is generated when there is a change in the IP address included in the PW status message sent by the peer. This notification is only generated if the IP address is the only information in the notification that changed. If the status bits changed as well, then the sdpBindPwPeerStatusBitsChanged notification will be generated instead.
What is sdpBindPwPeerFaultAddrChanged?
This notification (trap) is generated when a pseudowire (PW) peer device reports a change in its fault management IP address in the PW status message, indicating a reconfiguration or failover event on the remote service provider equipment. The notification includes the customer ID, service ID, and the new fault IP address for context. Service provider operations teams receive this alert to track remote node reachability changes and verify proper failover behavior in redundant network designs.
Examples
Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' TIMETRA-SDP-MIB::sdpBindPwPeerFaultAddrChanged snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.3.1.3.4.4.0.16
Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):
snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
Example snmptrapd log entry:
zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:54514->[192.168.30.10]:162]: DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (66265842) 7 days, 16:04:18.42 SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: TIMETRA-SDP-MIB::sdpBindPwPeerFaultAddrChanged
