Description: The value of the object sapTlsDhcpRemoteId specifies what information goes into the remote-id suboption in the DHCP Relay packet. If the value of this object is set to 'none', the remote-id suboption will not be part of the information option (Option 82). If the value of this object is set to 'mac', the MAC address of the remote end is encoded in the suboption. If the value of this object is set to 'remote-id', sapTlsDhcpRemoteIdString will represent the remote-id. By default, the remote-id value is none.

What is sapTlsDhcpRemoteId?

This configuration object controls what client identifier (MAC address or 'none') appears in DHCP relay Option 82 packets. It determines how the carrier network identifies DHCP clients to the server, essential for tracking which physical devices requested what IP address. A carrier troubleshooting DHCP lease conflicts would enable this to include MAC addresses in relay packets.
