What Is TERAWAVE-teraces-MIB?
TERAWAVE-teraces-MIB is Terawave's enterprise MIB for its Circuit Emulation Service (CES) feature, which carries TDM/DSL circuit traffic emulated over an ATM or packet network. It exposes configuration objects for provisioning CES circuits (signalling mode, parity checking, test-line settings, SRTS buffer size) alongside statistics objects counting transmitted, lost, and replaced cells at both cumulative and interval granularity. Its monitoring value is centered on circuit emulation performance: an operator can watch cell loss and cell replacement counts to judge whether an emulated TDM circuit is experiencing clock slips or network-induced impairment. It is a self-contained enterprise MIB for Terawave DSL access equipment without a strong stated dependency on other standard MIBs. It is typically deployed by carriers using Terawave DSL access multiplexers to deliver legacy TDM services over a packet/ATM backbone, and technicians supporting this equipment can download the TERAWAVE-teraces-MIB file to load it into their MIB browser.

An operator would provision a circuit via teraCESConfigTable, setting parameters like teraCesSignalling and teraCesSRTSSize, then monitor teraCESStatTable counters such as teraCESTCellCount, teraCESRLostCellCount, and teraCESRReplacedCellCount to detect cell loss or replacement indicating clock synchronization problems. The teraCESIntervalStatTable further allows tracking these cell counts over shorter measurement intervals, useful for pinpointing when in the day a circuit degraded. Rising teraCESRLostCellCount alongside stable teraCESTCellCount would specifically flag a network-side impairment rather than a source line issue.
