Description: Defines Teldat router WLAN wireless interface event trap notifications.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is TELDAT-TRAP-WLAN-MIB?

This Teldat-proprietary MIB defines SNMP trap notifications for the WLAN (Wi-Fi) interface subsystem on Teldat routers with wireless capability. It exposes event data including free-text status strings, event subtypes and results, the client MAC address and radio interface involved, plus RF-specific details such as channel, transition state, and RSSI (signal strength). It provides software-status monitoring of the WLAN feature (association/disassociation events, errors) combined with a degree of RF hardware monitoring through signal-strength and channel data, letting administrators detect client connectivity problems or poor radio conditions. It has no explicit dependency on the standard IEEE802dot11-MIB, being a Teldat-internal trap scheme layered over the router's Wi-Fi driver events. It is deployed on Teldat routers with integrated or module-based Wi-Fi radios used as access points or wireless WAN backup links. Engineers can download the TELDAT-TRAP-WLAN-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TELDAT-TRAP-WLAN-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Teldat router (Wi-Fi capable)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would monitor wlan2-subtype, wlan2-result, and wlan2-mac-address to see whether a specific client's association or authentication attempt succeeded or failed on a given wlan2-ifc radio interface. wlan4-mac-address paired with wlan4-rssi and wlan4-channel lets an operator track a client's signal strength and channel assignment, useful for diagnosing marginal coverage or channel congestion, while wlan4-transState flags an unexpected radio state transition. wlan1-string carries a free-form status message for events not otherwise structured, providing a catch-all diagnostic channel for the WLAN subsystem.

What Can Be Monitored

  • WLAN client association/authentication events
  • client MAC address and radio interface
  • signal strength (RSSI)
  • channel assignment
  • radio state transitions
