What Is TELDAT-TRAP-UDAF-MIB?

TELDAT-TRAP-UDAF-MIB is a Teldat enterprise MIB module defining SNMP notifications from the router's UDP Application Filter (UDAF) event subsystem, which inspects or filters UDP-based application traffic. It exposes only trap variable bindings, including a byte counter, interface identifiers, and application filter state fields tied to each UDAF event. Its monitoring role is to alert on state transitions or throughput anomalies in UDP application filtering, letting an admin detect when a UDAF filter changes state or observe traffic volume at the moment of the event. It shares the common SNMPv2 notification framework used across Teldat's TRAP-family MIBs. It is typically deployed on Teldat routers performing UDP application-layer filtering where visibility into filter state changes is operationally important. Engineers can download the TELDAT-TRAP-UDAF-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TELDAT-TRAP-UDAF-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Teldat router (UDP application filter subsystem)

Monitoring Examples

A udaf1 trap carrying udaf1-bytes-number and udaf1-interface reports the traffic volume seen on a given interface at the time of the event, useful for spotting unusual bursts through a UDP filter. Traps like udaf2, udaf4, or udaf6 that carry a udaf-state field alongside their respective udaf-interface let an operator track filter state transitions (e.g. enabled/disabled) per interface. Since this is a notification-only MIB, there are no persistent counters to poll outside of these trap events.

What Can Be Monitored

  • byte count at time of filter event
  • interface associated with UDAF event
  • UDAF filter state transitions
  • occurrence of UDAF filtering events
