Category: Teldat Router Management, Teldat Trap Notifications
Description: Defines Teldat router SNAT (source NAT) event trap notifications.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is TELDAT-TRAP-SNAT-MIB?
TELDAT-TRAP-SNAT-MIB is a Teldat, S.A. proprietary MIB (nested under telEventTraps as snatTrapsMIB) that defines SNMP notifications for the router's source-NAT (SNAT) event subsystem. It defines five NOTIFICATION-TYPE events, each with its own accessible-for-notify varbind objects: snatNotification1 and snatNotification2 report successful NAT-in and NAT-out translations, carrying original and translated source/destination IpAddress pairs (snat1-source-ip-address, snat1-source-ip-address-nat, and their snat2- counterparts); snatNotification3 and snatNotification4 report packets that passed through without being NATed (snat3-/snat4- source and destination addresses only); and snatNotification5 reports an invalid SNAT rule load failure, carrying snat5-rule-num and a free-text snat5-reason-txt. Because every object exists solely to populate these five traps, the MIB has no polling surface of its own — monitoring value comes entirely from a trap receiver capturing and logging the address-translation events and the rule-validation failure. It depends on the parent TELDAT-MIB for the telEventTraps notification root under which it is registered. It is deployed on Teldat routers performing source NAT, and network teams load the TELDAT-TRAP-SNAT-MIB MIB Browser view of this module to decode these SNAT event notifications in their trap collector.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TELDAT-TRAP-SNAT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Teldat routers (Teldat, S.A. router product line) with SNAT enabled
Monitoring Examples
An operator watches for snatNotification5 traps carrying snat5-rule-num and snat5-reason-txt to catch invalid SNAT rules that failed to load, and cross-references repeated snatNotification3 ("no been NATed in") events against expected NAT policy; frequent snatNotification3 traps for addresses that should be translated would indicate a SNAT rule gap or misordering.
What Can Be Monitored
- NAT-in translation event notifications
- NAT-out translation event notifications
- untranslated (no-NAT) packet event notifications
- invalid SNAT rule load failure notifications
- source/destination address pairs carried in SNAT event varbinds

RFC description
Teldat Source NAT (SNAT) trap MIB for managing SNMP notifications from SNAT (Stateful NAT) event subsystems (vendor-private).
Start monitoring Teldat routers with SNAT enabled (source-NAT translation/rule-failure event traps) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
