Category: Teldat Router Management, Teldat Trap Notifications
Description: Defines Teldat router LLDP (Link Layer Discovery Protocol) event trap notifications.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is TELDAT-TRAP-LLDP-MIB?
TELDAT-TRAP-LLDP-MIB is a Teldat proprietary, notification-only SNMP MIB that defines the trap varbinds emitted by the router's LLDP (Link Layer Discovery Protocol) event subsystem, the vendor-neutral IEEE 802.1AB neighbor-discovery standard. It groups three numbered event definitions (lldp1 through lldp3, under lldpEventsGroup/lldpNotifications), each carrying the affected interface. Operationally it is a fault/event monitor for topology discovery: it lets a management station learn asynchronously when an LLDP-related event occurs on a given interface, such as a neighbor appearing, disappearing, or its advertised information changing, supporting automated topology mapping and cable-plant verification. As with Teldat's other TRAP-* modules it depends on the standard SNMPv2-SMI/SNMPv2-TC notification conventions and Teldat's private enterprise OID tree, while riding on top of the IEEE 802.1AB LLDP standard for the underlying discovery protocol. It is deployed on Teldat routers/switches in networks that rely on LLDP for automated topology discovery and asset tracking. Engineers can download the TELDAT-TRAP-LLDP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TELDAT-TRAP-LLDP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Teldat router
- Teldat switch
Monitoring Examples
This module defines only notification objects and their varbinds rather than a polled neighbor table, so there is no GET-based monitoring scenario; it is trap-only. An SNMP trap receiver would inspect lldp1-interface, lldp2-interface, or lldp3-interface to identify which local port generated a given LLDP neighbor event, correlating it with the standard LLDP-MIB remote-systems table for full neighbor detail.
What Can Be Monitored
- LLDP neighbor discovery events per interface
