Category: Teldat Router Management
Description: Monitors Teldat router QoS feature policy statistics, queue depths, and traffic classification counters.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is TELDAT-MON-FEATURES-QOS-MIB?
TELDAT-MON-FEATURES-QOS-MIB is a private Teldat MIB for router products, providing real-time monitoring of Quality of Service (QoS) feature performance on a per-interface, per-policy, per-class basis. It exposes a monitoring table, telProdNpMonFeatQosTable, keyed by interface (telProdNpMonFeatQosIfc), policy index and class index, with counters for accepted packets/bytes, offered rate, drop rate, and instantaneous rate, plus a counter-reset control (telProdNpMonFeatQosClear). This is a performance/traffic-counter MIB rather than a hardware-health MIB: it lets administrators verify that QoS policies and traffic classes are working as configured by watching drop rate versus offered/instantaneous rate per class, and clear counters between test windows. It is a standalone Teldat-specific extension that presumes an underlying Teldat QoS policy/class configuration MIB defines the policies and classes being measured. It is used in Teldat router deployments (enterprise WAN/branch routers) where operators need to verify QoS enforcement and detect congestion-driven drops on specific traffic classes. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the TELDAT-MON-FEATURES-QOS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TELDAT-MON-FEATURES-QOS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Teldat routers
Monitoring Examples
An engineer would poll telProdNpMonFeatQosDropRate and telProdNpMonFeatQosOfferRate for a given telProdNpMonFeatQosIfc/telProdNpMonFeatQosIndexClass pair to see whether a voice or video class is being dropped under load. Comparing telProdNpMonFeatQosAccPkt/telProdNpMonFeatQosAccByt over time against telProdNpMonFeatQosInstantRate reveals whether traffic bursts exceed the policy's shaped rate. Issuing telProdNpMonFeatQosClear resets the counters for a clean baseline, and telProdNpMonFeatQosTime records when the current counters started accumulating.
What Can Be Monitored
- per-class accepted packets/bytes
- offered traffic rate
- drop rate per QoS class
- instantaneous rate
- counter collection start time
