This counter reports the number of packets discarded by this QoS class map, typically due to exceeding a configured bandwidth or queue limit. Admins watch it to identify which traffic classes are experiencing congestion-related drops, signaling a need to adjust bandwidth allocation or investigate a traffic surge. A rising drop count on a specific class while its offered rate also climbs confirms that class is oversubscribed relative to its allocated QoS bandwidth.
