Description: Defines OSPF event trap notifications for Spring Tide Networks broadband aggregation devices.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is STN-OSPF-TRAP-MIB?

STN-OSPF-TRAP-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB from Spring Tide Networks that defines SNMP trap notifications for OSPF Version 2 protocol events on its broadband aggregation platforms. As a notifications-focused module, it does not expose polled counters directly but instead defines the structure of the traps an agent sends when significant OSPF routing events occur, such as neighbor state changes or interface state changes. In a monitoring context these traps are used to alert operators in near-real-time to routing-software faults, such as an OSPF adjacency going down, which affects the device's ability to route traffic correctly. It explicitly depends on the standard OSPF-MIB/OSPF-TRAP conventions defined for OSPFv2, adapting them for Spring Tide's platform. It would be deployed on Spring Tide broadband aggregation routers running OSPF as their IGP, feeding alerts to a network management station. Engineers can download the STN-OSPF-TRAP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in STN-OSPF-TRAP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Monitoring Examples

Because this MIB defines only trap/notification structures rather than polled data objects, there is no concrete polling scenario to describe; an NMS would instead configure itself as a trap receiver and alert whenever the device emits an OSPF neighbor-down, interface state-change, or similar routing-fault notification.
