What Is STN-ROUTER-MIB?
STN-ROUTER-MIB is a Spring Tide Networks MIB for managing router-level configuration, virtual router instances, and associated protocol interfaces (IP, PPP, and PPPoE) on Spring Tide carrier routing platforms. It covers configuration and forwarding parameters for virtual routers along with their layered protocol interface stacks. Its role in status monitoring centers on software/configuration health—tracking virtual router instance state and the operational status of the IP/PPP/PPPoE interfaces bound to each router—rather than physical environmental sensors. As a router-focused module it likely depends on or complements standard interface MIBs (IF-MIB) and PPP-related standards for the protocol layers it references. It is deployed on Spring Tide Networks multiservice routing platforms used by service providers for broadband/subscriber aggregation. Since little vendor documentation accompanies most public STN-ROUTER-MIB downloads, administrators often have to infer exact object names by walking the MIB tree directly on a live Spring Tide device.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in STN-ROUTER-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
What Can Be Monitored
- virtual router status
- IP interface state
- PPP interface state
- PPPoE session state
Supported Devices
- Spring Tide Networks routing platform
Monitoring Examples
No sample object names were provided for this module, so specific object polling cannot be illustrated concretely; based on the module description, an admin would typically monitor the operational status of each virtual router instance and its bound PPP/PPPoE sessions to detect subscriber session failures or router-instance faults. Given the module's stated scope (virtual routers plus IP, PPP, and PPPOE interfaces), expected monitorable items would include virtual router state and per-interface protocol status, though exact object names cannot be confirmed without the MIB source.
