Category: ATM Interface Management, SonomaSystems ATM WAN Management

Description: Manages SonomaSystems ATM E3 interface configuration, cell statistics, and physical layer performance.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is SONOMASYSTEMS-SONOMA-ATM-E3-MIB?

SONOMASYSTEMS-SONOMA-ATM-E3-MIB is a Sonoma Systems proprietary MIB (enterprise OID 2926) configuring E3 physical-layer ATM interfaces. Its configuration table, keyed by physical index, records framing type, GFC-bit insertion, bipolar I/O serialization, payload scrambling, overhead processing, HDB3 encoding, loopback, cable length, internal equalizer, filler-cell insertion, and clock-generation mode, while a statistics table reports loss-of-signal, loss-of-E3-frame, framing errors, HEC errors, excessive-modulo (EM) errors, far-end block errors, bipolar violations, and payload-type mismatches. As a configuration/performance MIB it lets an administrator confirm E3 line-coding/framing settings and watch for HEC/framing errors indicating a degrading ATM E3 link. It is deployed on Sonoma Systems ATM access equipment with E3 interfaces. Engineers can download the SONOMASYSTEMS-SONOMA-ATM-E3-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in SONOMASYSTEMS-SONOMA-ATM-E3-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Sonoma Systems ATM access equipment (E3 interfaces)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks atmE3StatsHECErrors and atmE3StatsFrameErrors to catch a degrading ATM E3 link before it starts dropping cells on Sonoma Systems equipment.

What Can Be Monitored

  • E3 framing/HEC error counters
