Category: Server and Host Management, Siemens Nixdorf Server Management

Description: Monitors Siemens Nixdorf Windows NT host performance, service status, and system event log data.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is SNI-NT-MIB?

This is a Siemens Nixdorf (SNI) vendor MIB for monitoring Windows NT-based host systems running on Siemens Nixdorf server hardware. It exposes session/connection counts, CPU utilization, server memory, system type identification, BIOS date, and time zone configuration. It is directly a hardware/software host-health MIB: current versus average CPU utilization tracks processor load, server memory reflects available capacity, and current versus maximum session counts show whether the host is approaching a connection ceiling, while BIOS date helps confirm firmware/hardware identity. It complements the standard HOST-RESOURCES-MIB and MIB-II system group by adding Siemens Nixdorf-specific NT host details. It was deployed on Siemens Nixdorf server hardware running Windows NT in enterprise data centers, primarily during the 1990s-2000s era, and administrators can download the SNI-NT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in SNI-NT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Siemens Nixdorf server running Windows NT

Monitoring Examples

An admin polls sniNTSystemCurrentUtilisation against sniNTSystemAverageUtilisation to detect a CPU spike on the NT host, and checks sniNTCurrentSessions versus sniNTMaximumSessions to see if the server is approaching its configured connection limit. sniNTServerMemory reveals available memory for capacity planning, while sniNTBIOSDate and sniNTSystemType help confirm hardware/firmware identity during an inventory audit or troubleshooting session.

What Can Be Monitored

  • CPU utilization (current/average)
  • current vs maximum sessions
  • server memory
  • BIOS date
  • system type
  • time zone configuration
