Description: Manages Fujitsu ServerView duplex data manager configuration and mirroring operational status.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is SERVERVIEW-DUPLEXDATAMANAGER-MIB?
This is a Fujitsu ServerView MIB for the Duplex Data Manager (DDM), a Fujitsu PRIMERGY server agent feature that manages mirrored/duplexed disk write-cache data between redundant components (historically Siemens Nixdorf/SNI-derived, per the 'sni' object hierarchy). It exposes agent identification data (company, version, build) alongside operational status and installation-type fields for the duplex mechanism, plus a table of individual duplex-write ('DwPiece') entries with per-port indices. Its core purpose is monitoring software/hardware status: fscDdmCurrentStatus reports the health/operational state of the duplex data manager, fscDdmLastDate timestamps its last update, and the DwPiece table lets an admin verify each mirrored write path is functioning, which is critical for detecting a failed or degraded data-mirroring path before it causes data loss. It fits into the broader Fujitsu ServerView SNMP MIB suite (fscDdm namespace under the sni enterprise tree) and depends on that shared enterprise structure. It's typically deployed via the ServerView Agent on Fujitsu PRIMERGY servers for storage-redundancy health monitoring. Engineers can download the SERVERVIEW-DUPLEXDATAMANAGER-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in SERVERVIEW-DUPLEXDATAMANAGER-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Fujitsu PRIMERGY server (ServerView Agent)
Monitoring Examples
An admin would poll fscDdmCurrentStatus to confirm the duplex data manager reports a healthy state, and check fscDdmLastDate to ensure the mirroring subsystem is actively updating rather than stalled. Walking fscDdmDwPieceTable by fscDdmDwIndex exposes each fscDdmDwDwPort entry, letting the operator spot a specific duplex write-port that has dropped out of the mirror set. fscDdmAgentVersion and fscDdmAgentBuild help confirm the DDM agent software version matches the expected baseline during a fleet audit.
What Can Be Monitored
- duplex data manager operational status
- last update timestamp
- installation type
- duplex write-piece port status
- agent version/build
