What Is SERVERVIEW-OPERATING-SYSTEM-MIB?

SERVERVIEW-OPERATING-SYSTEM-MIB is part of Fujitsu's ServerView systems-management suite, used to monitor the operating system(s) running on a Fujitsu PRIMERGY or PRIMEQUEST server managed by the ServerView agent. It exposes OS identification data per hardware partition (partition number, OS name and designation), ServerView agent identity and version/build information, and cluster membership information for high-availability configurations. Its monitoring emphasis is software status: confirming which OS and version is installed on each partition, verifying the ServerView agent itself is running the expected version/build, and checking cluster state so an admin can spot an unexpected OS change, an outdated agent, or a cluster node that has dropped out. It complements Fujitsu's broader ServerView hardware-monitoring MIBs (covering physical sensors, power, and fans) by supplying the OS/software-layer view of the same managed server. It is deployed in enterprise data centers running Fujitsu PRIMERGY/PRIMEQUEST servers, often multi-partitioned or clustered, managed centrally through Fujitsu ServerView Suite. Monitoring Examples

An admin would poll svOsInfoTable / svOsInfoEntry, indexed by svOsPartitionNumber, to read svOsName and svOsDesignation and confirm which OS and version each partition of a multi-partition server is running. svOsAgentVersion and svOsAgentBuild verify the ServerView agent software itself is current, while svOsClusterInformation reveals whether a partition is part of, or has fallen out of, a high-availability cluster.
