Description: System MIB for Ruckus Unleashed (controller-less) wireless deployments, exposing AP system information, client counts, and network status without a dedicated controller.
IPNetwork Monitor uses several OIDs from this MIB in network discovery and polling the applicable devices. Start monitoring RUCKUS-UNLEASHED-SYSTEM-MIB with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor.
What Is RUCKUS-UNLEASHED-SYSTEM-MIB?
RUCKUS-UNLEASHED-SYSTEM-MIB covers system-level status for Ruckus Unleashed, a controller-less wireless deployment model where one access point takes on lightweight controller duties for a small cluster of APs. It exposes system identity information (name, IP/MAC address, model, serial number, software version), operational uptime, licensing limits (licensed AP count, max stations), and current statistics like active AP and station counts. This is a clear hardware/software status MIB: it directly reports device uptime, software version, and identity, alongside real-time capacity usage against licensed limits, letting an admin confirm the Unleashed system is healthy, correctly licensed, and running expected firmware. As a self-contained system MIB for a controller-less architecture, it has no dependency on a separate SmartZone/controller MIB. It is deployed in small-to-mid-size Wi-Fi deployments (retail, small business, branch office) using Ruckus Unleashed instead of a dedicated wireless controller. Engineers can download the RUCKUS-UNLEASHED-SYSTEM-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in RUCKUS-UNLEASHED-SYSTEM-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Ruckus Unleashed access points (controller-less deployment)
Monitoring Examples
An admin would poll ruckusUnleashedSystemUptime and ruckusUnleashedSystemVersion to confirm the Unleashed master AP has been stable and is running the expected firmware, and compare ruckusUnleashedSystemStatsNumAP against ruckusUnleashedSystemLicensedAPs to check whether the deployment is nearing its license ceiling. ruckusUnleashedSystemStatsNumSta versus ruckusUnleashedSystemMaxSta would reveal if the site is approaching its supported client capacity. ruckusUnleashedSystemSerialNumber and ruckusUnleashedSystemModel identify exactly which physical AP is acting as the Unleashed master.
What Can Be Monitored
- system uptime
- software version
- licensed vs. actual AP count
- max vs. actual connected stations
- device model and serial number
- management IP/MAC address

RFC description
Ruckus Unleashed System MIB provides management objects for monitoring and managing Ruckus wireless access points operating in Unleashed mode.
Start monitoring Ruckus Unleashed access points, controller-less deployment (system identity/uptime/licensing status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
