Category: System Management

Description: Manages BATM Advanced Communication link-state logging (LSL) feature configuration and status on Carrier Ethernet switches.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is PRIV-LSL-MIB?

PRIV-LSL-MIB is a BATM Advanced Communications proprietary MIB for the Logical Service Loopback (LSL) feature on their Carrier Ethernet switch product line, used with the Iometrix-compatible testing capability. It exposes configuration and status objects such as a global MAC address setting and per-instance management tables covering LSL and Iometrix loopback status. Administrators use it to confirm whether loopback service instances are enabled and operating correctly, which is a software feature-status check useful for service turn-up testing and fault isolation on carrier Ethernet links. As a private enterprise MIB it does not appear to have significant dependencies on standard IETF MIBs beyond basic SNMP conventions. It is deployed specifically on BATM Advanced Communications Carrier Ethernet switches used by service providers for Ethernet service delivery and testing. Engineers can download the PRIV-LSL-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in PRIV-LSL-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • BATM Advanced Communications Carrier Ethernet switches

Monitoring Examples

An operator can poll privLslManagementTable via privLslManagementEntry to check the privLslStatus of a configured loopback instance and confirm whether the logical service loopback is currently active. Similarly, privIometrixManagementTable's privIometrixStatus column reveals whether the Iometrix-compatible loopback feature is enabled on that port, letting a technician verify service-testing loopback state during circuit turn-up without needing physical access to the device.

What Can Be Monitored

  • LSL loopback status
  • Iometrix loopback feature status
  • global LSL MAC address
  • LSL management instance configuration
