Category: Server Hardware Monitoring, Storage

Description: Provides NEC ESMPRO ServerAgents trap notifications for software RAID (SvsRaid) volume fault and rebuild events on Linux.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is PSA-LinSvsRaidTrap-MIB?

PSA-LinSvsRaidTrap-MIB is a vendor-specific NEC enterprise MIB, part of the ESMPRO ServerAgent suite, defining SNMP trap notifications emitted by the SvsRaid software RAID driver on NEC PC servers running Linux. Like its sibling PSA trap modules it defines notification objects rather than polled tables, carrying event and identification varbinds for each trap. It is explicitly a hardware/software fault-monitoring MIB: its traps signal RAID volume degradation, disk failure, or rebuild events, which are critical for catching storage redundancy loss before data is put at risk. It shares the common NEC ESMPRO enterprise trap variable-binding structure used across the PSA-*Trap-MIB family. It is typically deployed on NEC Express5800-series Linux servers using software RAID (SvsRaid), where PSA-LinSvsRaidTrap-MIB SNMP monitoring reports RAID degradation and rebuild events into the ESMPRO management console or an SNMP-based NMS.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in PSA-LinSvsRaidTrap-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Fujitsu PRIMEQUEST server partition, Linux, SvsRaid software RAID (fault/rebuild traps)

Monitoring Examples

The trap varbinds trapEventLevel and trapEventId identify the severity and type of RAID event, while trapUnitName/trapSerialNo/trapModelNo identify the affected server and trapPartitionName/trapPartitionId/trapSuspect identify the affected RAID volume/partition; an admin receiving such a trap would use trapEventLevel to prioritize response and trapPartitionId to locate which RAID volume degraded or is rebuilding. As with other PSA-*Trap-MIB modules, monitoring here is event/trap-driven rather than via periodic polling of a data table.

What Can Be Monitored

  • RAID fault/degradation event notifications
  • event severity level
  • affected server identity (name/serial/model)
  • affected RAID volume/partition identity
