What Is PSA-LIN-MIB?

This NEC ESMPRO ServerAgent MIB defines the Linux-platform branch of NEC's server management OID tree, exposing hardware and OS-level status for NEC servers running Linux. It covers general categories such as CPU inventory, memory/swap sizing, and network-interface identity — combining hardware inventory with basic OS resource data. It is used to monitor the hardware and software status of a Linux-based NEC server: the number of logical CPUs and per-CPU details (linLogicalCpuEntry), total memory and swap size (linLgMemSize/linLgMemSwapSize), and each network interface's MAC/IP address (linNetworkInterfaceEntry), giving an administrator a way to detect a downed NIC, unexpected memory/swap configuration, or CPU count mismatch after hardware changes. It functions as the Linux-specific base structure underneath NEC's broader ESMPRO ServerAgent MIB family, which includes companion trap MIBs (e.g., PSA-LinIntelixgbeTrap-MIB) layered for specific drivers on the same platform. It is deployed on NEC Express5800/SIGMABLADE servers running Linux with the ESMPRO ServerAgent installed, in data centers that want SNMP-based hardware inventory and basic resource visibility for Linux hosts. Monitoring Examples

An admin polls linLogcalCpuTable/linLogicalCpuEntry (keyed by linLgCpuNumber) alongside linNumOfLogicalCpus to confirm the expected CPU count is visible to the OS, and checks linLgMemSize/linLgMemSwapSize to verify memory and swap allocation match provisioning. Walking linNetworkInterfaceTable/linNetworkInterfaceEntry (linNIIndex, linNIMACAddress, linNIIPAddress) reveals whether a network interface has lost its IP binding or shows an unexpected MAC address, which would indicate a NIC or configuration fault.
