What Is OMNI-gx2drr3x-MIB?
OMNI-gx2drr3x-MIB is a Cisco/Scientific Atlanta proprietary MIB for the GX2 DRR3X triple return receiver module, a component used in hybrid fiber-coax (HFC) cable television/broadband network headends to receive upstream return-path RF signals. It exposes hardware-oriented data describing the operating status and configuration of the module's three return-path receiver channels. Its monitoring value is centered on hardware status: confirming each of the three receiver channels is operationally healthy and correctly configured, since a failed or misconfigured receiver channel directly causes loss of upstream data from cable modems or set-top boxes served by that return path. As a headend hardware module MIB it likely follows Scientific Atlanta/Cisco's broader OMNI headend management MIB conventions but no explicit dependency is evident from the available module text. It is deployed in cable operator headends as part of the broadband return-path receiver infrastructure supporting DOCSIS/HFC upstream signal reception. Engineers can download the OMNI-gx2drr3x-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in OMNI-gx2drr3x-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- General Instrument OmniStar GX2 HFC headend/optical node (GX2 DRR3X triple return receiver module)
Monitoring Examples
No sample objects were supplied for this MIB, so specifics are inferred: an operator would likely poll per-channel status and configuration objects (following an OMNI naming convention for the three receiver channels) to confirm each channel is locked and receiving a valid upstream RF signal. A channel reporting an unlocked or fault state would explain a loss of upstream connectivity for cable modems mapped to that return-path receiver. This remains a plausible inference based on the module's stated hardware function rather than a confirmed object list.
What Can Be Monitored
- per-channel receiver lock/operational status
- receiver channel configuration
