What Is NETSTAR-MIB?
NETSTAR-MIB is a vendor MIB for NetStar network devices, referencing product lines including the Gigarouter and ClusterSwitch. No module description was available, and the sample objects consist mainly of the top-level organizational identifiers (netstar, netstar-products, netstar-daemons, gigarouter, clusterswitch, gr2) rather than runtime data objects, suggesting this entry primarily defines the OID tree/registration structure rather than exposing monitorable leaf objects directly. Where such a MIB does expose runtime data, it would typically cover routing/switching hardware status such as interface state, daemon/process health, and chassis status for the Gigarouter and ClusterSwitch product lines. Any actual monitoring objects would likely reside in per-product sub-MIBs branching from this registration structure. It would have been deployed in high-speed core routing/switching environments where NetStar Gigarouter or ClusterSwitch hardware was installed. Engineers can download the NETSTAR-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in NETSTAR-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- NetStar Gigarouter
- NetStar ClusterSwitch
Monitoring Examples
The sample objects available (netstar, netstar-products, netstar-daemons, gigarouter, clusterswitch, gr2) are organizational/registration identifiers rather than runtime monitoring objects, so a concrete polling scenario cannot be honestly constructed from this data; these OIDs mainly serve as the root nodes under which product-specific management objects for the Gigarouter and ClusterSwitch would be defined.
OIDs

|---|---|---|---|---|
| NTF coldStart | 1.3.6.1.2.1.11.0.0 | A coldStart trap signifies that the sending protocol entity is reinitializing itself such that the agent's configuration or the protocol entity implementation may be altered. | ||
| NTF warmStart | 1.3.6.1.2.1.11.0.1 | A warmStart trap signifies that the sending protocol entity is reinitializing itself such that neither the agent configuration nor the protocol entity implementation is altered. | ||
| NTF linkDown | 1.3.6.1.2.1.11.0.2 | A linkDown trap signifies that the sending protocol entity recognizes a failure in one of the communication links represented in the agent's configuration. | ||
| NTF linkUp | 1.3.6.1.2.1.11.0.3 | A linkUp trap signifies that the sending protocol entity recognizes that one of the communication links represented in the agent's configuration has come up. | ||
