Description: Defines MITEL Networks trap group notifications and alert severity objects.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is MITEL-TRAPGROUP-MIB?
MITEL-TRAPGROUP-MIB is a Mitel Networks proprietary MIB, described as the Mitel IP Networking Trap MIB, that defines trap group notifications and alert severity objects used across Mitel's IP networking product line. It exposes control objects for configuring which SNMP traps are enabled and their severity/routing (mitelSnmpTrapGlobal, mitelSnmpTrapControl), sitting within the broader Mitel proprietary IP networking subtree that also covers Mitel routers. This MIB's role is primarily fault/event monitoring — it doesn't expose ongoing performance counters itself but governs how hardware and software fault conditions on Mitel IP networking devices, such as Mitel routers, get surfaced as SNMP trap notifications for alerting. It depends on the shared Mitel enterprise MIB registration tree (mitel/mitelProprietary/mitelPropIpNetworking) used by other Mitel router/networking MIBs. It would be deployed alongside Mitel IP networking equipment (e.g., Mitel IP routers) in enterprise voice/data network environments to configure trap generation for fault alerting. Engineers can download the MITEL-TRAPGROUP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in MITEL-TRAPGROUP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Mitel IP networking routers
- Mitel IP telephony network devices
Monitoring Examples
An administrator would configure mitelSnmpTrapGlobal and mitelSnmpTrapControl to enable or filter trap notifications generated by devices under the mitelIpNetRouter subtree, then monitor incoming traps to detect fault conditions, such as a router losing connectivity or a hardware failure, on Mitel IP networking equipment. Because this MIB's role is largely about trap configuration and severity rather than a large set of polled runtime counters, its practical monitoring value comes from the trap notifications it enables rather than a broad set of gettable status tables.
What Can Be Monitored
- trap notification enable/disable state
- trap severity configuration
- fault event generation for Mitel IP network devices
