What Is MIMOSA-NETWORKS-BASE-MIB?
MIMOSA-NETWORKS-BASE-MIB is a Mimosa Networks proprietary MIB that manages base system identity, configuration, and device status for Mimosa's fixed-wireless/microwave backhaul and access hardware. It exposes product and hardware/software identification objects alongside operational data related to link speed changes, and defines a trap for reporting notable events. MIMOSA-NETWORKS-BASE-MIB SNMP monitoring covers software/link status: mimosaOldSpeed and mimosaNewSpeed let an operator see when a wireless link's negotiated speed changes (a common indicator of RF interference or link degradation), while mimosaTrapMessage carries human-readable status/fault text for event notification. Monitoring Examples
An administrator would subscribe to the trap carrying mimosaTrapMessage to receive free-text alerts about link or device events, and would compare mimosaOldSpeed against mimosaNewSpeed to detect an unexpected link speed downgrade on a Mimosa radio link. The mimosaProduct and mimosaHardware/mimosaSoftware branches would be polled to confirm which Mimosa model and firmware version is running on a given radio. A repeated mimosaNewSpeed drop relative to mimosaOldSpeed would reveal a degrading wireless link, prompting investigation of RF interference or alignment issues.
