Category: Wireless/WiFi

Description: Manages D-Link wireless access point configuration and client association status.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is MY-AP-MIB?

MY-AP-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB from D-Link managing "aggregate port" (link-aggregation/port-trunking) configuration on its managed switches — the sample objects (port config tables, member ports) confirm this is a trunking MIB rather than a Wi-Fi access-point MIB despite the name. It belongs to the Ethernet switching/port-trunking technology area of D-Link's switch product line. It exposes tables mapping physical ports to aggregate-port groups, including current/maximum aggregate-port counts, per-port aggregate membership, and objects for adding/removing member ports. Its monitoring value is confirming the software-level configuration status of link-aggregation groups — how many aggregate ports exist, which physical ports belong to which group, and pending membership changes — rather than physical hardware health. It depends on the base D-Link switch system MIB for overall device identity and is deployed on D-Link managed switches using link aggregation for higher-bandwidth uplinks. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the MY-AP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in MY-AP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • D-Link managed Ethernet switch

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll myApTable/myApEntry indexed by myApIndex to see myApMaxPtNumber and the current member-port list for each aggregate port group, and check myApPortConfigTable/myApPortConfigEntry (keyed by myApPortConfigPortIndex/myApPortConfigApIndex) to confirm which physical port maps to which aggregate group. The scalars myApMaxNumber and myApCurrentNumber show maximum vs. currently configured aggregate-port groups, while myApMemberAction and myApPossibleMember add or remove candidate ports from a group. A port unexpectedly missing from its expected aggregate group would explain reduced uplink bandwidth or a broken trunk.

What Can Be Monitored

  • aggregate port (link-aggregation) group membership
  • current vs. maximum aggregate port count
  • per-port aggregate group mapping
  • member port add/remove actions
