Description: Manages 802.11 client calibration parameters for RF measurement and location services on LWAPP controllers.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-LWAPP-DOT11-CLIENT-CALIB-MIB?

The CISCO-LWAPP-DOT11-CLIENT-CALIB-MIB manages 802.11 wireless client radio calibration used for RF measurement and location-services accuracy on Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers that terminate LWAPP tunnels from lightweight access points. It exposes tables defining calibration jobs per client MAC address, including beacon interval, number of radios/samples requested, and samples actually collected, plus a separate data table holding the collected calibration results. Administrators use it to monitor the progress and completion status of software-driven calibration jobs, comparing cLD11ClientCalibNumberOfSamples against cLD11ClientCalibSamplesCollected to see whether a calibration run finished successfully or stalled, which affects location-tracking accuracy for that client. It is part of the broader LWAPP/CAPWAP wireless controller MIB family and depends on IEEE 802.11 concepts such as beacon interval and MAC addressing for its parameters. It is deployed in enterprise WLANs using Cisco location-based services where accurate client location requires periodic radio calibration. Engineers can download the CISCO-LWAPP-DOT11-CLIENT-CALIB-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-LWAPP-DOT11-CLIENT-CALIB-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco Wireless LAN Controller (WLC)
  • 802.11 wireless client

Monitoring Examples

cLD11ClientCalibTable/Entry track a calibration job by cLD11ClientCalibMacAddress, cLD11ClientCalibNumberOfSamples requested, and cLD11ClientCalibSamplesCollected so far; an admin can poll these to see if a calibration job for a given client stalled partway through, with samples collected far below the requested number. cLD11ClientCalibDataTable then holds the resulting RF measurement data used by location services, and cLD11ClientCalibRowStatus shows whether the calibration entry is active, notReady, or otherwise failed.

What Can Be Monitored

  • calibration job progress (samples requested vs. collected)
  • client MAC address under calibration
  • calibration row status
  • beacon interval used for calibration
