Category: Routing Protocols, Vendor: Juniper

Description: Defines conformance statements for IS-IS routing protocol management on Juniper Networks E-series platforms.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is Juniper-IS-IS-CONF?

Juniper-IS-IS-CONF is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance module describing the IS-IS routing protocol management support implemented by the SNMP agent on Juniper Networks E-series routers. Like other Juniper *-CONF modules, it declares implementation variations and supported object groups of the underlying IS-IS MIB rather than defining any new managed objects itself. It therefore provides no direct visibility into hardware or software runtime status such as CPU, memory, or adjacency state; that data lives in the IS-IS MIB it references. Its main dependency is the standard or Juniper IS-IS MIB whose conformance it documents. It is consulted by management platforms during MIB compilation and capability discovery for Juniper E-series routing deployments. Engineers can download the Juniper-IS-IS-CONF file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Juniper-IS-IS-CONF. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Juniper Networks E-series broadband routers

Monitoring Examples

As a conformance-only module, it defines no runtime data objects to poll; it simply enumerates which IS-IS MIB groups (such as adjacency and system-level tables) the Juniper agent supports. A network management system would use it at integration time to validate which IS-IS objects are safe to request from the device, not as an ongoing monitoring target. No realistic monitoring scenario exists using this module alone.
